Windows Speech
Built-in Windows TTS (and STT). Free, offline, basic quality.
Windows Speech uses Windows' built-in speech synthesis (and transcription). Free, offline, supports any languages you have installed in Windows. Output quality is basic compared to neural TTS — useful as a free fallback or for offline-only setups.
Windows Speech is experimental and content is censored by Windows itself — explicit phrases may be silently dropped or refused.
Setup
Make sure your language is installed in Windows
Settings → Time & Language → Language → Add a language. Make sure the Text-to-speech capability is included.
Add to Voxta
Manage Services → + Add Services → Windows Speech → Add.
Pick a voice from the available Windows TTS voices. Click Save.
Note
The same Windows Speech module also provides STT — see Windows Speech under Speech-to-Text.
