OpenTK

OpenTK is Voxta's cross-platform audio backend: the one to use on Linux, or as a fallback when NAudio misbehaves on Windows.

OpenTK is the cross-platform audio I/O backend. Use it on Linux (where NAudio doesn't apply) or as an alternative on other platforms.

When you'd use this

  • Running Voxta on Linux — OpenTK is the path that works there.
  • You want a cross-platform setup that's not Windows-specific.
  • NAudio is misbehaving on Windows and you want a fallback.

Manage device selection and audio params in Manage Modules → OpenTK → Configuration.

NAudio

NAudio is Voxta's default audio backend on Windows. When to change the microphone, speaker, sample rate or buffer size.

FFmpeg

Local audio format conversion. Required by several TTS / STT services.
