Voxta Profile
Your user identity in chats — name, description, conversation preferences, default assistant.
Your profile is the user side of every chat. It tells characters what to call you and how to address you. Voxta uses your profile name in the {{ user }} template and your description in {{ user_description }}.
You see this screen on first launch (you can't skip it — Voxta needs at least a name to start). You can edit it any time from Main menu → Profile.
Required first-launch agreement
Before you can save a profile you must:
- Confirm you're 18+ and an adult in your jurisdiction.
- Agree to the Terms.
Profile fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Profile Name (required) | How characters address you. Renders into {{ user }} everywhere. |
| Profile Description | A short description of who you are, your role, your relationship to the character. Renders into {{ user_description }}. |
A useful description sets the relationship explicitly:
"Alex, the protagonist's best friend. Often skeptical, asks pointed questions."
Or just:
"Alex, a software engineer based in Brooklyn."
It's mostly free-form — write what helps the AI calibrate.
Conversation preferences
Prevent Speech Interruptions
When enabled: your microphone stops recording while the character is speaking. The character can finish without being cut off by background noise or accidental interruption.
When disabled: you can interrupt the character mid-sentence — more natural-feeling but introduces feedback risk if you're using speakers instead of headphones.
Recommended: disable if you're on headphones (interruption feels natural). Enable if you're on speakers (kills the feedback loop).
Hide NSFW Options and Characters
When enabled, characters and options flagged explicit are filtered from your view. Doesn't affect non-NSFW characters or the chat itself.
Default Assistant
Pick one character as your default assistant — loaded automatically when Voxta starts. The default assistant also has elevated privileges (can run functions / plugins you register).
Voxta ships with built-in candidates (Voxta, Catherine, George by default — your install may vary). You can also set any character you've created as your assistant.
