Voxta Profile
Your user identity in chats — name, description, conversation preferences, and your default characters.
Your profile is the user side of every chat. It tells characters what to call you and who you are. Voxta uses your name in the {{ user }} template and your description in {{ user_description }}.
Open it from your avatar at the bottom of the main menu → Profile & Settings. It has two tabs, Profile and Accounts.
First launch
The first time you open Voxta, a short setup comes before anything else:
- Welcome to Voxta: confirm I am an Adult and I Agree to the Terms (Terms).
- Create Your Profile: your name and description.
- Secure Your Account: on a computer, set a password and optionally Encrypt my content. See Encryption.
- Save Your Recovery Code, if you turned encryption on.
Then the setup wizard takes over.
Identity

| Name (required) | How characters address you. Renders into {{ user }} everywhere. |
| Description | Who you are, your role, your relationship to the character. Renders into {{ user_description }}. |
| Author Name | Filled in as the author on characters and scenarios you create. |
A useful description sets the relationship explicitly:
"Alex, the protagonist's best friend. Often skeptical, asks pointed questions."
Or just:
"Alex, a software engineer based in Brooklyn."
It's mostly free-form — write what helps the AI calibrate.
Preferences
Hide Explicit Content
Hides characters and options flagged explicit. Doesn't change anything else about a chat.
Pause Recording During Speech
When on, your microphone stops recording while the character speaks, so background noise or your speakers can't cut it off.
When off, you can interrupt the character mid-sentence. More natural, but it can pick up the character's own voice if you're on speakers.
Recommended: off on headphones, where interrupting feels natural. On with speakers, to stop the feedback loop.
Notify Character When Misheard
When part of what you said wasn't caught, the character is told which words were missed, so it can ask you to repeat instead of guessing.
Privacy
Admins only.
- Check for Updates: fetches the public release notes to tell you when a new version is out.
- Send Anonymous Analytics: opt-in usage statistics. See exactly what is sent shows the full payload.

Avatar
Your own picture in chats, 3:4 (384×512). Generate Avatar makes one with your image generation service.
