Google Drive
Back up characters, scenarios, memory books and packages to your own Google Drive.
Stores resource backups in your own Google Drive, under Voxta/Backups.
| Cost | Free — it uses your own Drive quota. |
| Hosting | Online. |
| Requires | A Voxta Cloud account to sign in. |
Setup
Add Google Drive in Manage Services → + Add Services, then sign in with Google from the module's configuration.
Set a backup passphrase while you are there unless you specifically want unencrypted backups. Encryption defaults to AES-256-GCM, which does nothing without one.
Sign-in is brokered through Voxta Cloud, but your Drive token is not stored there and your backups do not pass through it — the upload goes from your machine to Google directly.
Voxta requests only the scope that lets it touch files it created. It cannot see the rest of your Drive.
Notes
- Uploads have a ten-minute timeout, since a package carrying assets can be large and Drive over a slow link is not quick.
- Deleting a backup from Drive by hand is fine; Voxta simply stops listing it.
A backup is only as recoverable as its passphrase. Store it somewhere other than the machine Voxta runs on.
