Creating content with Voxta

Rules for videos, streams and other published content that features Voxta characters, including monetized content.

Many of you want to feature a Voxta character in your videos, streams or podcasts. This page explains what the standard license allows, what we ask in return, and when you need a Commercial License. It clarifies section 1 of the Terms of Service.

Short version: Yes, you can publish content made with Voxta, including monetized content. Please credit Voxta in the description. You only need a Commercial License if you resell Voxta or run it as a service for other people.

What the standard license allows

With the standard license you can:

Record, stream and publish videos, podcasts, clips and screenshots of your Voxta characters, on any platform (YouTube, Twitch, Rumble, TikTok, and so on).
Use a Voxta character as a co-host, guest or narrator in your content.
Monetize that content through ads, sponsorships, memberships, tips or donations.
Use the text and voice audio generated during your sessions in that content, whether it came from Voxta Cloud or from services you connected yourself (see Voices and third-party content).

This applies whether you publish as an individual or through your own channel business. What matters is what you do with the software, not the size of your channel.

Credit

We ask that published content made with Voxta includes a credit in the description, for example:

An on-screen mention or logo is welcome but optional. You can download the logo, a badge for video overlays and more from Brand assets. Don't modify the logo or combine it with your own branding in a way that suggests it's yours.

No endorsement. Crediting Voxta doesn't mean Voxta endorses, sponsors or reviewed your content. Don't present it that way. You are responsible for what you publish.

When you need a Commercial License

You need a separate Commercial License if you:

Sell, resell, rent or bundle the Voxta software, or a product built on it.
Run Voxta as a service that other people use directly, for example a hosted companion service, an app for customers, or access you sell to your Voxta installation.
Deploy Voxta in a business setting, such as kiosks, installations, events, customer support or enterprise use.

Voices and third-party content

You are responsible for having the rights to everything that appears in your content:

Real people. Don't use voices, names or likenesses that imitate real people without their consent. This includes cloned voices and marketplace voices built to sound like celebrities or public figures. Voices designed by Voxta are the safest choice.
Characters and scenarios made by others. If you imported a character or scenario someone else created, follow that creator's terms.
Your own service accounts. If you connect your own accounts (for example an LLM or TTS provider through your own API key), that provider's terms also apply to what it generates.
Everything else. Our Terms of Service and the code of conduct still apply, as do the rules of the platform you publish on.

Automation and the API

You can automate your setup, for example keeping characters and scenarios as local files and importing them with a script. Using the server's HTTP API with an API key is allowed, and the Terms encourage it.

Some endpoints are the ones the Voxta web app uses internally, not a versioned public API. They can change between releases, so check the release notes when you update.
