Install Voxta-ready scenes

How to download and load community scenes that come pre-wired with Voxta.

A Voxta-ready scene is a .var package that already has the Voxta plugin wired into one or more Person atoms, with characters and scenarios pre-configured. Drop the .var in, open the scene, talk.

Where to find them

Install steps

Get the scene .var

If you have Hub Browser enabled in VAM, you can download scenes directly inside VAM (see below). Otherwise download the .var manually and copy it into your VAM AddonPackages folder.

Auto-download missing dependencies

From the VAM main screen, click VAM Hub in the left tab. At the bottom-left, click Scan Hub For Missing Referenced Packages, then Download All in the top-right. Wait for it to finish.

This step pulls in any characters, models, or plugins the scene depends on. Skipping it usually results in pink/missing meshes when you open the scene.

Open the scene

Go to Scene Browser in the VAM main screen, find the scene you downloaded, click to open. The Voxta plugin connects automatically if your server is running.

Verify Voxta is connected

In Edit Mode, select the Person atom → Plugins → find Voxta → Open Custom UI. The Connection tab should show Connected, and the character's State should be idle.

If you get a "Some resources are missing and will be installed" message in the VAM log, that's normal — the scene is auto-deploying its bundled character/scenario to your Voxta server on first run.
